In Spring 2020, underground record label 100% Electronica took the concept of an online concert and married it with stunning panoramic 3D visuals to create a first-of-its-kind experience in the emerging homebrew VR space. Just as some of the most interesting and important music today comes out of self taught recording artists's home studios, technological advancements in the field of computer graphics have reduced the barrier of entry, allowing a diversity of new 3D artists to explore their own imaginations without any corporate backing. However, due to a lack of platforms for discovery, many of the most talented and creative graphics artists go underappreciated or unnoticed. Virtual Utopia aims to facilitate a symbiotic relationship between musicians and this new breed of homebrew VR animators where both parties serve to lift one another up.

In addition to discovering new talent, Virtual Utopia aims to become a free public resource for learning homebrew VR techniques. Developing new tutorials (as well as curating existing relevant tutorials) is an ongoing process. You can view our tutorials here.
